making a difference

The University of Memphis campus is continually expanding, improving, innovating – to meet the needs of each of our students, faculty and staff. Tours are offered every weekday. Visit memphis.edu/admissions to schedule a visit.

New Student Recreation & Fitness Center — COMING FALL 2018
Health and fitness, intramural sports, aquatics—we will take it all to the next level with a new facility designed to be totally state-of-the-art. Everything students could want will be here, from expanded fitness and locker rooms, more intramural fields with artificial turf, additional basketball courts, an indoor track, lap and leisure swimming, and spacious areas for cardiovascular equipment, free weights and group exercise classes. This signature building will be located on the southern edge of campus, connected by a pedestrian overpass, across the tracks on Southern Avenue, for easy and safe access to the facility.

Tiger Den
With fresh food as its focus, Tiger Den offers tons of great choices, all in one place. Ever popular with students, Subway and Steak ‘n Shake, are also located at the Tiger Den.

University Center
The gathering point for most things social. Inside you will find a three-story atrium with a dedicated lounge area to decompress from hard days. Here you can grab convenience foods, like Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell and Dunkin’ Donuts. There’s also a 24-hour computer lab, U.S. Post Office, copy center and offices for many student organizations.

V. Lane Rawlins Service Court
Home to Starbucks, the University Bookstore, a full-service bank, Eye Care Center and Tiger Copy & Graphics.

Wireless Campus
All of our residence halls have high-speed Internet access through wireless or Ethernet, and all academic buildings on the main campus have wireless Internet access.

Ned R. McWherter Library
An enormous resource, the size of four football fields stacked on top of one another. The elegant domed foyer is modeled after the Jefferson Memorial. It is one of the most technologically advanced libraries in the nation.

The Art Museum of the University of Memphis (AMUM)
Houses the Institute of Egyptian Art and Archaeology’s permanent collection and hosts regular exhibitions.

The FedEx Institute of Technology
A research hub and think tank where science, business and industry intersect, also featuring the Zone meeting space, which is the second largest digital congress outside of the United Nations Building.

Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law
A must-see for those considering a law career, located off the main campus in a beautiful historic downtown building on Front Street. Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law was named the top facility in the nation by PreLaw magazine in 2014.
